Newport Beach Teens Launch Wellness Wave
Three Newport Beach high school students are bringing teen mental health into the spotlight with Wellness Wave, a new nonprofit focused on creating more open conversations among girls. The group will host its first event Oct. 4 at Lido Shores for 50 girls ages 13 to 18. The day will include Pilates, lunch from Bear Flag, matchas, and speakers sharing their personal experiences with mental health. Tickets open to the public Sept. 1, with proceeds benefiting Project Youth OC, a local youth mental health resource. Wellness Wave was also recently approved as a 501(c)(3) public charity, giving the founders a chance to expand the organization and reach more teens.
